Can I compare thee to the sea?
When the gentle, cascading fluid caressed my ankles,
this fleeting moment of euphoria flashes though me.
The Sun casted a blurry fireball on the choppy surface,
but too, it swings away with the blue.
When the layers of emerald ribbon danced back,
my feet involuntarily pushes my body back.
I surge forward to the horizon,
grabbing something that I thought was there.
I know I'm slipping away from you, just like the blues.
I know I couldn't own the sea.
But it pleases me to know I might.
It was foolish. Agonising,
to wait for the sea to wash up onto the shore.
Time and time again.
